As a Belgian-Chinese mixed heritage individual, I have returned there for years with a perspective that is both insider and outsider, suspended between familiarity and rediscovery. Around ten trips have allowed me to grasp only a tiny fragment of it—just enough to sense the vastness of the country and the infinite richness of its contrasts.
